Hey Calimama,

I didn't realize you had experienced hearing loss and tinnitus. I meant you would be lucky to catch a symptom-free AN before it got really big.

I also did close to six months of allergy remedies, including Flonase, before graduating to an MRI and a real diagnosis. It is frustrating, but at the same time, the doctors have to look out for all the people who actually do just have allergies, and not go scaring them or running up huge bills giving everyone an MRI.

Sam Rush is an MD on this forum, I believe in general practice, who had an AN, and resolved to pay more attention to the signs and symptoms with his own patients. I think he recently reported that he found one, in a case that he might not have previously considered looking at so closely. Gradually the medical community will become more aware of it and get better at identifying it.

8 mm left AN June 2007,  CK at Stanford Sept 2007.
Hearing lasted a while, but left side is deaf now.
Right side is weak too. Life is quiet.
