Update on Progress
« on: May 01, 2007, 02:49:50 pm »
I had a little setback and had to be readmitted to the hospital for a couple of days.  It seems that as soon as I went off of the steroids the swelling returned.  I'm back on a titration plan now using Decadron with a slower taper.

My major problems right now include the right side facial weakness and all of the eye problems associated with that.  Loss of hearing in my right ear plus an infection and ruptured eardrumb in my left ear and of course the balance.

I was just released from the hospital again yesterday so today is sort of a starting over for me.

Oh my goodness  I am so sorry to hear you have had this little setback. Hopefully the recovery road will be less bumpy.  You are in my thoughts.

Catflower (Linda):

Glad you're out of the hospital - even if it seems like a 'do-over' for you.  You're still a 'postie' and we wish you the very best in your recuperation and recovery.

4.5 cm AN diagnosed 5/06.  Retrosigmoid surgery 6/06.  Follow-up FSR completed 10/06.  Tumor shrinkage & necrosis noted on last MRI.  Life is good.

Life is not the way it's supposed to be. It's the way it is.  The way we cope with it is what makes the difference.

Linda--Hope this is the end of your "bad" days and the start of your "good" ones.  Things do get better.

Very sorry to hear of your setback too!  Must be exasperating to say the least.  May you have a speedy recovery and joy along the way.  Thinking of you.

So sorry to hear about your setback but hopefully you are on the road to recovery now.  My thoughts and prayers are with you.  As I am sure you know and have read, be prepared for fatigue.
