If anyone's staying over on Monday, the Monday night special at the Weathermark (1535 S. Michigan, short ride on #3 bus) is a big, juicy hamburger + all the trimmings plus a pint of any beer for $6.00.  We're going tonight.  One beer at the Drake probably costs $10.00.

Thanks for the updated list - but I'm already going to ruin it.  My plans have changed and I won't be in town until the wee hours of Friday morning; so I'll be at The Drake Friday afternoon.

Also, Lori has had a change of plans - you'll find it if you read back a few posts.

This (deep dish pizza) might be a fun and informal way for all ...What kind of place were you thinking for Thursday?  If you land at 5 you will probably get downtown around 6:30.  Should we reserve around 7:30?

Also, how many for high tea on Thursday afternoon?  Maybe we should we make it Friday afternoon instead? I will make the reservation once I know how many...  It begins at one and ends at five.  You want at least an hour to an hour and a half.

There was also talk about Saturday night Howl at the Moon?  How many are intereted in that?

We can be impromptu too...but in Chicago, you are often best with a few reservations in place during the summer!!! We are a popular tourist spot.

Pizza is fine with me. I am not coming to Chicago for the food, even though there is plenty of good food there. I care more about who I am eating with.  :)

Do men have to wear a tie for high tea? I think I still have one somewhere up in the attic...

won't be arriving in time for the High Tea (I believe....) but a maybe on the pizza (not allowed to eat pizza but maybe they offer something I can eat.....).  I'll have to note as a "maybe' to see how I'm feeling post-CHI arrival/flight.

Would love to do High Tea on Friday, but it all depends on what time you plan to do it.  I'm not sure when I'll get downtown, but if tea is late enough in the day, count me in.

Also, I'd love to Howl @ the Moon.  Despite initialling thinking it would be too loud, several of my colleagues who've been there said that it isn't as loud as you'd think.  They also said it's a great place.

We can do Tea Friday but not Thursday and would definitely do Howl at the Moon if a group is going!  We are pretty easy!

I have now found out that we are going to Michigan several days ahead to do a project on my daughters house.        I know by Chicago time that he will be ready to go home.              Too bad as he will have to figure out how to keep himself occipied while I am at the symposium.               I don't care if get do any museums since we have been to them.     Sears Tower and Woodfield Mall will not be missed though after the symposium.                                   The symposium is all Fri afternoon for those who are doing tea instead.                                                Cheryl R

symposium does have a full schedule for Friday... and was told that we will not find out until registration what each person is confirmed to attend (ie: workshops you ask for when you enrolled for the symposium, etc).
