Two Month Post-CK Report
« on: May 20, 2010, 07:23:44 am »
Finished CK in mid-March.  Thought I'd give an update.  You can read my previous posts for my somewhat rocky first few weeks.

At this point, I feel 100% normal.  No balance/disequilibrium issues whatsoever.  These gradually disappeared.  No hearing loss whatsoever (docs say hearing improved, couldn't prove it by me).  Tinnitus has returned to pre-treatment levels.  Of course, no facial weakness, etc.

Only negative point is that my normally low blood pressure skyrocketed after treatment, and won't go back down.  We don't know why.  I'm on 20 mg. lisinopril.  For the first time since I started taking it nearly 3 weeks ago, I forgot one dose, and by bp shot right back up the next day.  So, unfortunately, it's just "capped" by the meds.  Working on diet and exercise (was barely overweight and a daily exerciser before hand), still hoping that might help.  Will have first followup MRI in June.

All in all, so far so good . . . waiting to see if it "worked."
Rt. side 14mm x 11mm near brain stem
Severe higher frequency hearing loss
I use a hearing aid (Dot 20 by Resound)
Balance issues improving!!!!

Sunfish,
Thanks for the update :) Hopefully the BP will calm down over time. I don't know how many months the CK takes to settle down, but I'm sure it fired something in there.
As long as you are exercising and eating well, I think you're good! It's no fun to take medicine. My bet is in 6 months,  you'll be fine.
Let us know how you continue to heal :)

Excellent to hear - all but the BP. Keep the meds going to keep it in check. I send continued positive vibes to get it back to normal.
