http://www.anarchive.org/hearing_aids.htm

this site lists several methods for hearing.

They also mention the Transcranial hearing aid,    and report that the sound quality is poor.

Whereas, the Baha provides near normal hearing for many.

Hey, Josnik -

I am glad that your surgery went well.  I am a few weeks ahead of you and have gone back to work part-time in a quiet office environment.  I, too, have been thinking about hearing aids of some sort, but have found so far that I am not having much trouble hearing what I need to hear to get along.  The only time I have really felt disadvantaged was in a room full of noise when I was trying to converse with someone who had a very soft, low-pitched voice.  I did have significant hearing loss in my AN ear prior to surgery, so I think that I have been in practice a little longer than my surgery date might indicate.
