1st B-Day post-op!
« on: December 01, 2008, 08:49:45 am »
Hey guys, It's my Birthday today!  First one since surgery and I expect many more  ;D  I Share this with you guys because (my own) Birthdays were never important to me.  I think a brain tumor (or surviving any health crisis) puts the day in a different perspective, and you guys would understand that.  I had great faith in my doctors, and rightfully so; but I was secretly afraid I wouldn't survive anesthesia.  I was so wary of the anesthesiologist that when I met her (yes her - a very competent and sweet Dr. Gunn) in the minute b4 going under, I filed her name with a picture technique fueled by poor word recognition: I heard Gunn as Hunn and envisioned - you guessed it - Attila the Hun!  But here I am, just dandy.  In the months prior to surgery my husband was indulging me and wanted to get me an iphone.  I told him he could get me an "I survived surgery iphone", and I think I may let him do that today!
LOL,
Jules

Happy Birthday!  It's also my son's birthday, too.  36 years ago today, at 10:04 a.m. my little bundle of joy came into the world.  Seems like yesterday, seems like 36 years ago, too.  Strange how that is.

I hope you have a great day!

Happy Birthday Jules!  I had a birthday three weeks post op and had a party at my house.  That's what I wanted as a gift; to be surrounded by the people who had shown so much love and support in a difficult time.  Just wish I would have had the forum family there as well.

Enjoy your birthday and your sweetie too!
Best,

Happy Birthday to you-u-u-u-u-!

They do get sweeter, don't they?  My birthday is Jan.5, and I will be a little more than 3 weeks post-op....and 60 yrs. old--groan!  My best b'day present will be a clean head of hair.  Dare I wish for that?
