Platysmectomy?

I've been getting regular Botox for close to a year. At my last appointment, the facial plastic surgeon suggested cutting the platysma muscle. Has anyone had this done? I had never heard of it before, but I found a fairly positive study online, and it can be done under local anesthesia in the office. The look of the bands doesn't bother me much, but it can really hamper any minimal smile I might have, and it can cause some painful spasms.
