Blowing snow, freezing temps, why it's even cold wayyyy down here!  To that I say, "WHERE'S THE GLOBAL WARMING!"

Have a wonderful Christmas Deb and may your New Year begin in peace and continue with joy!

OK, now, it's over a foot and still coming down hard!!  I just made Dr Love a big pot of veggie chili and watching the NCAA Division 1 championship between Montana (who beat us, Appalachian State, in the semi-final last week) and Villanova. Hope the power stays on!!

Karen, great to hear from you, girl!

Great poem, Clarice-rhymes-with-Paris!

I will take my camera out tomorrow and get a few shots--I haven't painted a winter scene in years (my clients are usually Floridian snowbirds) Might be a good change of pace for me.

Jan, I promise I'll try to send some snow your way!

Hi to everyone else!

Hugs,

Cap'n, I've been loving the pictures, so pretty!  It doesn't look like we'll get much of any snow around here so I'll live vicariously through your weather.  Merry Christmas!

Deb .....

The "poem" is the first stanza of an oldie, but goodie, song, written in 1949 and first made popular by Bing Crosby (am I dating myself or what!!  :o).  http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Marshmallow_World  Every time it snows that song pops into my head.

Took some pictures of our accumulation this morning but our cable has been down most of the day so did not get them uploaded.  We have maybe 12-14 inches on the ground, still coming down ......  Looks like we will have a white Christmas since the temperature is supposed to stay low.  All of the tress are heavy with snow so it looks like a real winter wonderland ...... love it!

Greetings, everyone!  Well, the snow has slowed down a bit and we didn't lose power this time.  It has been years since we had this much snow at oncew!  It is really beautiful.  Here are some shots I took this morning as I ventured out.

Sadie is just beside herself and loves to play in the snow:

Here is a shot of the little church that is about a 5 minute walk up the road:

Although I didn't beat the snowplow, I got a nice shot of our road:

I should get a pretty nice painting out of all these photos even though I am obsessed with color.

30 days till I get my Botox injections so I can get back in the studio without coming down with a headache after an hour of painting. Have a great week-end everyone!

Hugs,

The church is lovely, but the picture of Sadie romping made me laugh out loud. Is she a black lab? Our black lab, Daisy (which is kind of like Sadie turned sideways) went to the Jingle Bell Run with my daughters and me today. We didn't run much of the way, mostly walked around the capitol building several times. We had a light dusting of snow, which Daisy was taking little nips of as she trotted along. Unfortunately there was some black ice along the way and Elbee took a tumble. No real harm done, and nobody saw it other than me, so no harm to her dignity either.

I checked the weather, Cheryl, and while there is snow forecast for Wednesday and Thursday, they are not talking much accumulation . . . yet. We don't often have a truly white Christmas, so I wouldn't object to some snow.

Saralynn,
Sadie is a chocolate Lab and just turned 2.  She is going bonkers in the house!  We have our boots and gloves and hats drying by the fireplace and she keeps picking them up and sitting by the front door with one of them in her mouth and staring at us with pleading eyes--you know the look.  We are getting ready to go out and play again in a few minutes.

Hope Daisy gets some snow to play in!

Just got back with a romp with the pup--she chased snowballs forever in the pasture next to the road.  No traffic at all anywhere and our road is a sheet of ice.  Tomorrow is Dr Love's and my 12th anniversary and our driveway has 20 inches of snow covering it.  He parked his truck at the foot of our driveway so we can probably dig it out, but my car is stuck up at the house till the snow melts off a bit--there is no shoveling our driveway as it is really long and steep.  Guess I won't be wearing my Manolo Blahnicks on our date tomorrow!! Unless my prince carries me down the driveway!

For all you on the east coast, stay safe!!

Stay warm, everyone
