My surgery was about 13 hours long.  My tumor was well-wrapped up in the facial nerve.  Both the neurosurgeon and the otalaryngolist  (sp) (ENT type) did my surgery.

Length of surgery will depend on size of tumour, its location,it's texture and on the surgeons. Mine took about 10 hours.  I understand 8 hours is about the average.
The team usually comprises of both a neurosurgeon and an ENT surgeon.
