Being a rebel is what gives it all that much more meaning!  Go for it.  I think shrinking the skull a bit and accentuating the 8 would help you achieve what you want.  What a cool tatt and what a conversation piece.  I love it!

I like the 8-ball between the teeth, too.  Can't wait to see a picture once you've been "inked" Satman!

Hey, Satman, I'm so glad you like my 8 ball idea.

Is that the Dr. Chang at Stanford? I'm going to see him at the end of this month.

Satman that is sooooo awesome! I love the suggestions you have received. Great ideas. CAS stands for children's aid society here in Canada. When you decide on a final design post it so we can see it! When are you getting this tattoo? You should approach LA Ink and we can watch you get it on TV!
I was never a tattoo girl but really felt the need once I became a survivor! I posted my tattoo picture and a tattoo my daughter got when i was diagnosed. 46 years old and I would like another - the word COURAGE somewhere. Just for me!
I cannot wait to see yours when it is finally done!

Satman, dear,

Love the tat design!  As a former T-shirt and graphic designer, I would flourish up the lettering a little--it's kind of cold.  And you know me--I luuuuuurrrrves skulls!!!  It would make a great story for LA INK--you should contact the show's casting producer here:

http://tlc.discovery.com/tv/la-ink/casting.html

They are always looking for unique stories and yours is one of the best. You are certainly a hero around here.

I love tattoos but have never gotten one as I always think of the Buffett song "A Permanent Reminder of a Temporary Feeling."  However, having an 8cm AN is no temporary feeling!  I have sworn to get inked for my 60th birthday--I want a leatherback sea turtle on my shoulder or upper arm as a reminder of my father, who passed away 12 years ago.  We used to participate in the leatherback protection project on St Croix--guarding nests, measuring laying leatherbacks (which can weigh up to 2000 lbs) and  releasing straggling hatchlings.  The leatherback mamas come ashore under the full moon and the whole process is spectacular and ancient.

Send us a pic of your final design and the tat!

Hugs,

Capt Deb

Great idea by the Captain; and I whole-heartedly agree.

I'd LOVE to see this on LA Ink.

Deb -

great musical selection.  Permanent Reminder is one of my favorites - but then again, most of JB's songs are my favorites  ;D

I think the sea turtle is definitely something you should do.  A wonderful tribute to your father and a loving childhood memory for you.  Go for it!
