I hope your recovery continues to go well. Take it easy for a least a few days, you did just have brain surgery. It's great to see you so perky so soon, though.

Right side is weak too. Life is quiet.

Great to hear from you, Anissa!  Congrats on becoming a postie - and what a great recovery you are already having - no way was I smiling that soon after surgery!

You've really done well - so glad and many wishes that it all continues so well for you.  If you do develop some temporary paralysis, trust the docs with what they say - you will be fine!

Be sure to get your rest, now,

So glad to see you doing so well Anissa!  Up and walking, talking on the phone, doing your own updates (pretty long one too!).  It's great to see all these good outcomes!  Your picture looks great!  Enjoy the head gear! (ha!  I couldn't wait to lose that thing).
 
Remember to listen to your body.  If you have energy, walk.  If you are tired, sleep.  If they bring you hospital food, throw it out and make Chris get you a cheeseburger or something :).

-Had to cut hearing nerve to get "sticky" tumor, so SSD right side.

Right sided AN 2.7cm at last MRI.  Hearing loss/facial numbness.  Translab scheduled March 11th 2009.  Translab at Royal Melbourne Hospital, Australia successful!  Total tumour removed, SSD, no facial issues, numbness has left the building, balance issues but they'll get better and I'm loving life!

Anissa is going to get some good rest tonight.  We got moved into a quiet room late this afternoon and they let her rest without interruptions for much longer periods.  We just got through with a nice walk down to the nurses station and back.  She did the walking all on her own all I did was was hold her gown and get in her way I think.  Walking down the halls 24 hours after brain surgery :o I'm in amazement myself.  Good Job my dear wife -- I love you so much!! :-*

I'm truly amazed but not surprised. You had all your ducks in a row, and here you are!
Do you have any dizziness at all? Using a walker or something?????? Anything to show us that you are hurting? A headache perhaps?
When you get home, your kids will be all over you. Just say NO!

Wow, Anissa, your progress is amazing. I don't think I got around to walking until three days after surgery. Even sitting up in a chair was sooo hard for me. Just moving my eyes made me want to throw up.

I'm happy for you, especially that your smile is so symmetrical. Keep up the progress.

Okay, I am really, really late jumping on here - but wanted to add my congratulations and well wishes now that you're reached postie-status!  Funny that you mention the insulin injections - I had them too, but rarely hear other people mention it.  Well, after having your head drilled open, a tiny stick wiht a needle is no big whoop, is it?

Keep your wonderful attitude and keep smiling - it gets better every day!

GK 12/06- Wake Forest Univ Baptist Med Ctr
MRI 5/07- Some necrosis;  Now SSD
MRI 12/08- AN size has reduced 50%
MRI 12/11- AN stable (unchanged from 12/08)

Nice snowy white pirate headgear.  Glad to have you back m'dear!  So glad you got to meet up with Miss Yootee before your surgery--she's a pistol, that one.  Wow,  released on Saturday would be great--it really is great to be able to get home after all this stuff, believe me.

Woo Woo!  Congrats on things going well..  I pray they continue to go well for you and your family.  Walking 24 hours after surgery is amazing..  After I was out for 12 hours, I didn't want to do anything for several days especially get up and walk.  That's amazing!
