Eye lid twitch
« on: February 06, 2012, 08:01:36 pm »
Has anyone experienced upper eyelid twitch on affected AN side? I am dealing with this and have recent AN diagnosis? Is this realted? I'm hoping this isn't facial nerve involvement. Any thoughts appreciated.
New dx 2.0 x 1.9 cm AN

Hi Trev

I have eye lid twitch, it is so annoying, could be facial nerve involvement. I have facial nerve neuromas, but from what I can make out the symptoms are so similar
Hope this helps, sometimes knowing that it isn't;t just you helps

I get a twitch just under my eye on the tumor side.  I too have a facial neuroma.
Original 1.75cm left-side AN diagnosed Feb 2010
Translab surgery May 27, 2010 with Drs. Kartush and Pieper of MEI
SSD on left side, some facial weakness, tear duct doesn't work
Found I actually had a facial neuroma during translab

I do get a twitch once in awhile.  My doctor said that it happens especially when there is stress, your tired, or too much coffee.  (Stress, yep.  Tired, yep.  Is there such thing as too much coffee? )

I hope the twitch relaxes soon,
Kathy

PS  Let your doctor know this and see what he/she says.
Good Luck.

I had tons of these teeny tiny twitches last week.  Clusters of them.  But they've subsided this week.  On the tumor side.  Haven't asked the doctor about them yet.  Looking back at my old posts, I guess I had these in December too.  Now they're just about gone again . . .
Rt. side 14mm x 11mm near brain stem
Severe higher frequency hearing loss
I use a hearing aid (Dot 20 by Resound)
Balance issues improving!!!!

I don't recall having these pre-op but certainly post-op, and they continue 20 years later. Irritating yes but the least of worries I think.
1st AN surgery @ age 23, 16 hours
Loss of 7-10th nerves
mulitple "plastic" repairs to compensate for effects of 7th nerve loss
tumor regrowth, monitored for a few years then surgically removed @ age 38 (of my choice, not medically necessary yet)
