Best Way to end a work week......
« on: June 12, 2009, 02:31:34 pm »
.......NOT!

Here it is, Friday, 4pm EST, sitting in my nice office... go into the office kitchen to rinse the coffee pot... and what comes running out from underneath the bottom cupboards?  A MOUSE!!!!!!!!!  :o  :o  :o

We have spent the last 30 minutes trying to chase it out and nothing... and we try to call prop mgt.... vmail.... UGH!

Just wanted to share that with you all instead of me saying my usual "back on topic folks....."

so, instead of me lurking at you all to see what mischief and mayhem you all are up to... I'm heading back into the kitchen with my coworker to get the bugger!

A mouse... for the amt of rent we pay here... ugh.

Major "EW!" factor!

Ok, maintenance dept just showed up... trying to find the  stinker....

Hate to be the one to break more bad news, Phyl, but where there is one mouse there are going to be more. Set some traps. Peanut butter is good bait.

thanx for the laugh Phyl...one sure way to get rid of unwanted mice is getting a pet rat...I know ewwww but I raised pet rats for many yrs and they are very clean and lovable..and mice wont venture where a rat lives...Some of my rats were on Animal Planet. Now stop laughing...lol...there are pet rat shows, just like dog shows and many breeders are older women...50,60 etc...Ok laugh some more at this. My late hubby had one of his fav rats neutered....Cost just as much as a cat...Alrighty, when you stop laughing check it out on the web...they truly are amazing pets.

Rats! Really! I thought rats were just really big mice. Shows you what i know. Sorry but I think I'll opt for the peanut butter, or better yet a good exterminator.

An office cat would serve the same purpose as a rat. I've never had a mouse any time I've had a cat.

Poor little mouse!   :-*  After reading Angelina stories all afternoon to our 4-year-old granddaughter .......  I know it is not funny to have one scurry past your feet but .......

Good luck.  This is a weird time of the year to have them come in so they must have an established residence.

OMG, Phyl.

I thought you were going to say the best way to end a work week was alcohol - or at the very least, chocolate!  ;D

I don't know about an office rat or an office cat, but my son has a 5 1/2 foot corn snake that I could lend you - permanently!  He'd take care of the mouse problem for you.

I don't actually "make" trouble..just kind of attract it, fine tune it, and apply it in new and exciting ways

I have 3 cats.  Once in a rare while a mouse will venture into my home, usually during some bad weather.  My cats immediately sense something and hunt it out, usually killing the mouse but at worst scaring it out of the house. The cats seem to live for this--they are always on patrol.

LOL...funny thread. Like nteeman we also have 3 cats. We also have lots of mice. Everyday there are 3 or 4 more "presents" left outside on the deck. I don't think there is a live mouse within 100 yards of here. The chipmunks, rabbits and birds aren't too happy either... ;)

cats were our thoughts over the weekend... I'll pass on the snake or other reptiles! (ew! factor for me!)... and hoping the exterminator shows up today... will be sitting at my desk, in my chair, indian-style, to keep me feet off the floor, thankyouverymuch! :D

Phyl~
I would always pull my feet up when a snake or mouse came on TV or the movies - my brother would always make fun of me because he said it didn't help!!  In your case, it really might help!!

Hope you have a mouse-free day!

Yee-Haa !!!!!!!  This has been one of the more interesting threads I've seen on this forum!  If you have cats and ever see them playing with their catch ..... throwing the mouse up in the air with wild abandon ..... get out your camera and get as many pics as possible.  It'll bring you a lotta laughs later.
