Its my turn! Surgery tomorrow!
« on: March 31, 2009, 07:20:38 am »
Well friends, tomorrow is the big day.  Today I have 4 pre-op appointments today but the very best part of my day is that I get to meet some ANAers!!!!  I know a person shouldn't be so excited about all this surgery business but I'm so ready to move on and be able to quit guessing and supposing.  I can't thank you all enough for all your well wishes and prayers.

Hello Anissa!

Don't forget to take your virtual AN scarf with you!  It works just as well as the real thing!

I said a little prayer for you and am confident now that you will do great!

She's totally going to rock it!  I can tell!

I'm also proof it's possible to rock it without the scarf!  Besides, meeting real AN'ers rather than virtual AN'ers is like a giant hug all at once, fantabulous!  I was slightly excited by the prospect of the surgery, so fear not - the time has come to start the next chapter of recovery.

I will be thinking of you all day (it's the 1st here in Australia already so technically today is your surgery!), we'll see you posting in a week or so oui?!!
Right sided AN 2.7cm at last MRI.  Hearing loss/facial numbness.  Translab scheduled March 11th 2009.  Translab at Royal Melbourne Hospital, Australia successful!  Total tumour removed, SSD, no facial issues, numbness has left the building, balance issues but they'll get better and I'm loving life!

Anissa ~

I know how you feel about 'just getting on with it' so you can stop playing guessing games and start to move toward recovery, leaving this experience in the past.  I felt the exact same way just over 3 years ago.

You'll be in my prayers and my thoughts tomorrow.  I think you're going to do just fine.  :)  We'll be looking for updates and of course, as soon as you're up to it, for you, as a 'postie'.

Jim
4.5 cm AN diagnosed 5/06.  Retrosigmoid surgery 6/06.  Follow-up FSR completed 10/06.  Tumor shrinkage & necrosis noted on last MRI.  Life is good.

Life is not the way it's supposed to be. It's the way it is.  The way we cope with it is what makes the difference.

Anissa,
Back in my rock and roll days, there was a song by the Doors and one line from the song was "Break on through to the oher side!"  You are ready to do that now.  Good luck and see you on the other side!
