Hey, Sue, thanks for bumping this!  I read it when you first put it out here in '09 and it was so helpful...was especially good for my husband to read - helped him understand my issue better...and gave me a bit more sympathy ;)

Very informative.  I wear progressive lenses, I wonder if I should switch to a flat lense.
Anyone wants to weigh in on this ?

Think my 10 year old daughter will read the article?  We went hiking this weekend and she was embarrassed that I was hugging every tree that I passed.  Dad used to climb the hills with her, what happened?  Now I know.

Thanks for passing this along.

Thanks for this great article Sue and DonnaLynn.    I've been so preoccupied with my headaces that I've been ignoring my balance.   This fall down half a flight of stairs today really shook me up.   I don't get dizzy, I just fall in my tracks.

Thanks again,

Hi Chances3 .....

Had a thought about this ..... if you are already used to the progressive lens, you might be just fine.  I just would not change to progressive lens if you did not already have them because as Donnalynn said, it could really mess with your balance with the distortion.

I have trifocal flat lens (did before AN diagnosis).  I am very careful when walking to tip my head down far enough to look over the near-vision range.

Because of my years as an accompanist, I am very much an eye mover, rather than a head mover so progressive lens were never an option for me (I did actually try them.).

Just my thoughts .....
