Lori's surgery was scheduled to start at 1 p.m. and she thought it would take about 3 hours.

She asked her husband, James, to let Kay or me know how things turn out.

Hopefully we'll have news to share with you some time later today.

Let's keep her in our thoughts and prayers.

Thanks,

Jan

All I know so far is that Lori has been moved into a room - which is basically all the hospital would tell me.  Curse those HIPPA laws  :P

I didn't ask them to connect me to her room because I was pretty darn sure she wasn't ready to have calls just yet and I didn't want to bother James or whoever was with her.

Hoping to know more later.

Thinking of Lori, I know she's doing great (or else).

Hey Everyone~
I just got an e-mail from Lori's husband and she did well with the surgery and did not have any complications.  They think she will go home tomorrow or at the latest Sunday.

K -

thanks for posting this; I was just going to do the same.

James also said thank you to everyone for keeping Lori in your thoughts and prayers.

News from Lori.  She is home already - yes!  In addition, she was able to shower and wash her hair  ;D

She says she is feeling good but tired, and her neck is sore.  In her words it "feels like they tied a noose around it and dragged me around the hospital for a few hours".

Her doctor said things went well.  He was able to make a smaller incision than he expected, which means her scar shouldn't be noticeable at all.  He anticipates it will probably take 6-7 months before Lori sees any results, but she can start PT once the movement starts.

Hopefully she'll be around soon to post for herself.

Thanks Jan.  I'm so glad Lori is home and recovering.  When you talk to her again, please tell her I send my best.  She's a trooper, that Lori.

Yeah, Lori is definitely a trooper.  And I love her sense of humor  :D

I've only "talked" to her via email, but I'll give her your best.

Thanks for the update, Jan.  Sure hope it does do the trick for her...will take patience to wait the 6 months or so to see the results.  But, as you guys note, she certainly is a trooper.  Hope the "noose around the neck" feeling goes away soon.

Hurry back, Lori!

So Glad Lori is at home and healing! I can not wait for her to get her first "zap" or "zing" in about 6-7 months. I know that will be so exciting and we will be there to celebrate with her!
