« Reply #15 on: June 12, 2008, 07:17:24 pm »
Hi it is all your support and the love of the dear ones that has kept me active so soon. Thanks to you all. My eyes are still stitched close. Pain and swelling are subsiding slowly. I am using the gprs in my mobile to come online. Thanks again. Praba.
Cheers,
Praba

Hi Praba:  Like Kay, I'm also interested to know how come the surgeon stitched your eyes - was this before the T3 or during ? ? ?

Hi sorry about that info. It was my misunderstanding. My eyes are not stitched. The stains of blood got clot around the eyes and it is holding the eyelids close. The doctor instructed that he will clean and open it today. I am doing good. Thanks. Praba.

Doctor informed that a sling is running around the eyes to keep them tight.pls let me knw if it is normaland if the eyes would look same in the due course.also the doctor  told to bite the teeth and look for the contraction of the new muscle.but i anot able to feel the pull of my lips due to my bite.pls let me know how to do the physiotheraphy.thanks

Hi Praba.  I can't really help you with what needs to be done as far as the T3 since I've never had that procedure myself.

Is it possible you still have some swelling around your "bad" eye that's making it look different from the good eye?  I know Nancy and Kay said they had to deal with the swelling for a while, so maybe 10 days post op, you still have swelling?  I hope that's all it is and that in time, it will look more like the other one.

I hope everything else is going well and you continue healing!

Praba~
I did not have my eye stitched - I have a weight.  However, my eyes do not appear exactly the same.  In fact, I think that when I go back to Baltimore next month, the Dr. is not going to be super pleased with how it turned out..we'll see.  In do not have any feeling on the right side so I never feel the contractions when I clinch my teeth.  I do have some movement when I put my teeth together.  I really don't know what to tell you except that you have to look in the mirror a LOT!!   :D

Hi Praba:  I've had the 'sling' to my eye done 3 times (unfortunately gravity keeps pulling the lower lid down after awhile).  My AN eye looks bigger than the normal one (in fact, my pictures under 'facial issues', subject: post temporalis tendon transfer', pg. 2, shows the difference - it still pretty much looks the same).
As far as 'biting down', I have found that if I only let the 3rd upper & lower teeth from the back touch, this gives my cheek the lift.  I don't need to bite down hard.   I never feel the lift  in my lips.  You're only 10 days post op - I didn't see much at 10 days,  wait awhile for the swelling to go down & the tendon to fall a little more, you'll then see the 'lift'.

Always good thoughts,   Nancy

Hi, Praba -

I don't have any advice for you about your eye.

I just wanted to say I'm glad your recovery is going so well and I hope it continues.

Best wishes,
