enhancing area???????
« on: April 05, 2008, 10:10:53 am »
Hello,

Just a quickie incase you don't all read my preivious post does anyone know what an enhancing area is????????????

It was in the letter i have just recieved off my consultant following an MRI, the letter read.............

"Everything is pretty satisfactory inside your head, although, there is a small enhancing area related to where a tiny bit of the tumor was left on your facial nerve"  :o

Any thoughts or has anyone else had this explained to them????????

Thanks, a slightly concerned Cheryl XxX  :-*

Enhancement means a bright spot on the film. It appears to be the expected tiny bit of tumor that they left and nothing more--like no more growth.

Hi kate,

Thank you for clearing that up, its been worrying me ever since i recived the letter, why can't the doctors just say bright spot on the film, would make life so much more simpler.

One of the reasons is because they spent all that time and money in medical school.

Another reason is because when they talk to each other, they all understand it.

Medical terminology was definitely NOT created with patients in mind ;)

I don't actually "make" trouble..just kind of attract it, fine tune it, and apply it in new and exciting ways

Thanks, Kate!  Always great to see an answer to a question the doctors leave you with!
