Jim Scott has used a phrase ' at glacial speed', which I love (& have used at work).

I have the twitching underneath my eye also, but I have the tumour on my facial nerve.  Is my nerve dying a slow death?

Hi Yardtick,
The facial nerve is being stimulated and misfiring due to the compression from the tumor. Once the compression is relieved then the twitching will cease. I had hemifacial spasms due to nerve compression from blood vessels. It caused twitching and this is what the doc. told me. SO......no your nerve is not dying it is being irritated. The facial nerve can take quite a bit of trauma and it... THANK GOD does everything it can to come back once it has been damaged/traumatized. Our bodies are amazing but just not fast or in a hurry like we are at healing us.
