You can always negotiate the time frame if you are uncomfortable with it.  Explain your concerns to the doctor and find out why they recommend 1 year.  There maybe a very good reason.  Do what is best for you and your family.  We all know how expensive it is to have to go through the deductibles each year.  Anyways in my experience my son's doctors have been very good about working with us and listening to our imput.    16
I believe you are given choices in life and it is not what has happened to you that defines who you are.  It is how you handle the situation and finding the positive in an almost hopeless situation that counts the most.  My son is my hero and I have had the pleasure of learning this from him.
