Great pics everyone.  Thanks for posting them.  I wish I had been there........I'm with Laz, I'm saving me
pennies for 2009!!

I just gotta ask this one question about the symposium:  OK, the majority of the people that were there cannot hear very well.  Does everyone talk louder?  Is it any different that being in a large crowd with people that can hear normally?  Was the dinner on Saturday night ok or was it hard to hear in "the big room"?

Alot of the time it was very much like being in a crowded situation, where alot of people are talking and it drives you bonkers (well it drives me bonkers anyway).  I just would plug up my ear when it got really bad, in a workshop that was crowded in a small room (just that last one).  Anyway, it was pretty quiet when someone was speaking, and for those speakers who weren't loud or clear enough for some folks, they had someone who was typing and it was going up on a screen (that's where we saw the spinal cow cord, cuz the guy was making alot of mistakes :X), but I'm sure it was a big help for alot of people.  I didn't go to the banquet because I just wasn't up for it but I was told that the music was a bit loud so I probably would've left early anyway.  Loud music = headaches for me.  All in all, it was a good time tho, I'm glad I got to meet other people from the forum!

We searched High and Low for Flyersfan but never did locate him. We wore piratey stuff and travvelled in a big group and were loud and hard to miss, but short of making a public announcement at the speaker podium, which we considered, we still couldn't smoke him out.
The  folks missing from the shot are Karen (Arushi), Bethany (redgirl), Marren (Supermarren) and staypoz. They all recieved PBW "uniforms", however.  To tell you the truth the pace was so fast that those of us with cameras had a hard time getting any pictures!

WHAZAT?  MUSIC TOO LOUD FOR YOU?  Good thing you weren't at our table--right next to or rather on top of the muscicians and yes it was way to loud.  Very hard hearing anyway for SSDers, but jeezloueeze trying to converse was impossible.  We just shook our heads "uh huh" alot and smiled.  Never did get the jist of any conversation.  We left right after that as I started to sigh alot meaning I'm trying to hang on but not doing a good job of it.  Can't believe I paid to have my good ear blown away!

I just got the latest AN newsletter which is mostly about the symposium and was quite surprised to see our little group picture in it.          Did one of you other gals send it in or did Judy or someone get it from the forum?        Anyway wasn't expecting to see us  in print!              I still think Il look like a little kid peeking over someones shoulder!
      Jean and Desilu also had letters  they had written also.         Yeah for you both!
