I just found this article written by a patient and it describes our "little friend" and the naughtyness it can inflict post treatment.  The depth perception in your most excellent account of your story had me interested and I investigated.

You have probably read this one though or maybe some others like it, but he does mention in great detail why and how our vision can be involved.
