    • This is my silly website!
Ok i have self diagnosed myself as yall know.> NOW i wanna do something about it cause 1.  I am getting WORRIED sick and 2. i am havin balance issues (ESPECIALLY when i am sleepy!!)   ALL my symptoms include:

a rumbling in my ear, kinda sounds like a bowling ball, or fluid in my ear. interemently after hearing a noise or touching my ear.
when i grab my ear and "wiggle" it i hear a clicking
ringing, sometimes HOWEVER some of it is from loud noise
when i chew or move my jaw i hear clicking
or yawn, i hear the "bowling ball" noise

NOW I NEED INFO! I live near Roanoke VA and i want to know a good ENT or Audiologist that will LISTEN to the symptoms i have and not tell me i am silly..  I want to have the photo taken so i can SEE the inside of my head.  that way if i DO have it, i can get the thing taken care of.. and if i DONT have it, i can have peace of mind. (that will be my new years resolution)  Please pray for me that i can get this treated, Preferably without surgery (getting the thing nuked)        Thanks again for your help

For your peace of mind I suggest you have your doctor refer you to an ENT / Otolaryngologist or neurosurgeon for initial examination and referral for an MRI scan with contrast dye added whereafter you will be made 100% aware of whether or not you have an acoustic neuroma or if there is another reason for your symptoms.

I cannot help you with regard to your choice of specialist but I wish you the very best of luck.

Residing UK. In 'watch & wait' since diagnosis in March 2002 with right side AN. Initially sized at 2.5cm and now self reduced to 1.3cm.
All symptoms have abated except impaired hearing on affected side which is not a problem for me.

The clicking you are hearing could be tmj.

How far is ronoake from dc?  There have been a few to get treatment up that way and spoke highly of their docs.

This has been going on since august dieselducy.... have you seen a doctor about the questions you have  posted here? i sure hope so....

self diagnosing is generally not a good idea....

then again there are some people who do this consistently all the time to their benefit....

am wondering what your doctors say about your situation?

hope you have answers from them since august?  ... let us know? not knowing is a pretty miserable experiencie.. that's why having the right diagnostic tests available and done is the best.

dieselducy,

As windsong clearly notes, this has been going on for quite a while now.  So, you can either get yourself to a physician and get a proper diagnosis or..... so please, do check the "Physician" forum here for local AN treating physicians in your area (or recommendations by others that have been treated around the country).  There are wonderful recommendations there.  That will be a terrific first step for you to find someone local, as well as doing an internet search for ENT's in your immediate area that are also covered by your health plan.

Be well,
