Help with doctor search for friend with 3 cm neuroma
« on: July 14, 2023, 04:53:35 pm »
Hi Everyone,

Has anyone had a retrosigmoid or translab procedure within the last few years at UCSD with Dr.Friedman and Dr.Schwartz?
I thought having some knowledge of other good results would help my friend have some more confidence in using them.

Thank you!

CA Marti

Hi Marti,

It's good to see your posts again!

One way to check this out for your friend is to go to the Home page of the ANA Forums (What I'm about to tell you won't work from this page).  Then at the Home page, find the Search field on the right side.  Type in something like "Translab Friedman", and then hit <Enter>.

When I did that, it gave me 180 posts regarding Translab and Dr. Friedman.  You could try the same with "retrosigmoid Schwartz" and it might give you similar results.

All of the posts would not be pertinent, but many of them would.  There are many positive posts about Friedman and Scwartz.  And you can read what their patients posted on the Forums here.

I hope it goes well with your friend!

While watching and waiting, lost significant hearing. WRS now at 12% (down from 100%). Was fitted with CROS system on 3/7/22.  Stable MRI on 7/29/22
No treatment yet.

Hi Don,

Thanks! That suggestion is very useful on how to search for these specific questions. I'm not sure why I didn't think of that! I was hoping to help my friend with any useful information to somehow ease some of the stress of the doctor search, decisions, etc.
Thanks for your help!
