Amitryptyline
« on: July 17, 2021, 02:06:18 am »
Hi is anyone else on Amitryptaline for nerve pain/sleep? Today I was prescribed 2-5mg of a pill as safe and effective for trigeminal nerve pain (earache mainly) to help me sleep as I sometimes get this at night - never in day. Would really like feedback as I feel a bit anxious. Up to now and I must continue to take melatonin which has been great but not that helpful with nerve pain. Had this earache prior to Cyberknife am two and a half years out. Please respond.

Hi Michele!

I've not been on this medication, hopefully it helps you out with the nerve pain so you can sleep well at night.

I found some of my symptoms, like shooting nerve pain, wonky head and headaches took, over 3 years post treatment to lessen or resolve.

Hi Stella! Hope all going better with you. Yep I am debating this- I am back on the PEA and melatonin and that is helping again. I just cannot understand why after two and a half years I cannot sleep on that side without the nerve pain maybe its the pressure. I still have a tender spot also above ear back of head after treatment- tender to touch. No symptoms in day at all - healthy and very energised - am seldom tired even though I wake frequently at night.

Hey Stella he said it might just cause other issues - for example liver and I know its been linked long term with greater risk of dementia. He just said try stay natural try acupuncture. He very old- has been an oncologist for like 40 years. He ok with melatonin and natural anti inflammatory.
