A study of non-Hispanic Caucasians with various types of brain tumors concluded that there was an increased risk of acoustic neuroma (odds ratio 2.0, CI: 1.1-2.7) associated with the alanine-encoding rs4880(C) allele.[PMID 18682580OA-icon.png]

20 x19x14mm Cystic AN diagnosed Feb 2019. CK.
Mri 2019 shrinking: 18x17x13 mm.
Mri 2020 - no cysts visible, stable.
MRI 2023 Further reduction 12x12x10mm!! Hearing 87%
MRI 2026 - further reduction to 10mm x 9mm x 9 mm! Hearing stable - no change since 2025 no need for hearing aid as yet.
