« on: August 15, 2017, 04:21:29 pm »
Hello

Pls advise me if you are knowledgeable.

My sweet baby girl, 12 mos young, was born with cCMV. Due to that she has sensorineural hearing loss. Bilateral profound.
Hearing aids are not useful.

Well the BAHA procedure help her to hear?

TIA

I'm sorry. I am wondering what is CMV? And at 12 months, how is your daughter doing? I think the BAHA needs a working hearing nerve. Does the doctor say the hearing nerve is functioning?

The BAHA needs a working hearing nerve and a working ear.

Look more into the area of antiviral drugs such as valganciclovir. Take a read of http://successforkidswithhearingloss.com/cmv-and-hearing-loss/ .

Talk to a doctor about the best approach to prevent further damage and potentially improving the situation.
