Hearing aid in pretreatment
« on: March 06, 2020, 08:03:16 pm »
Has anyone had a hearing aid while in pretreatment?  While my hearing loss is not severe, I do miss things, and I can purchase a reasonably priced hearing aid through Costco.  My hearing test was essentially the same as that done by the audiologist in the doctor's office.  I was told I only needed a single hearing aid. My AN has been 1.4 x 0.6 cm x 0.5 for the past 2 years with no significant growth and not due for another MRI in 2 years.
11/2/17 MRI w/o contrast for positional vertigo-1.3 cm mass in left IAC
11/8/17 MRI with contrast - AN 1.4 cm by 0.5 cm by 0.4 cm
12/19/17 Watch and wait
5/23/18 MRI w/o contrast 1.4 cm by 0.6 cm by 0.5 cm.
11/2018 MRI with contrast  no significant growth
11/2019  MRI w/o contrast no growth

I have not, my situation happened too quickly, but I have a dear friend who just picked up hearing aids in the last few months and he cant believe the improvement in life.

My mother just got on through Costco, and they let her wear the 'test' hearing aids in the store to see if it made a difference. She told me that she didnt realize how much she was missing until that walk through the store with the test hearing aid.

Would love to hear what you decide to do and how it goes.
