Hi elizabethpoff .....

There are a number of physicians throughout the United States who will do free consultations via email or phone call if you send your MRI to them.

Do you know you have an acoustic neuroma and want another opinion?  If so, let us know your thinking at this point regarding treatment options and we can give you several names of physicians who have much experience in treating specifically acoustic neuroma.

Clarice
Right MVD for trigeminal neuralgia, 1994, Pittsburgh, PA
Left retrosigmoid 2.6 cm AN removal, February, 2008, Duke U
Tumor regrew to 1.3 cm in February, 2011
Translab AN removal, May, 2011 at HEI, Friedman & Schwartz

Hi Elizabeth,
Both House Clinic (Dr. Schwartz) and USC (Dr. Friedman) do free MRI phone consults:
https://www.houseclinic.com/consultation/acousticneuroma
http://acousticneuroma.keckmedicine.org

I had both of them (when they worked together at House) perform my surgery with an amazing outcome! They preserved my hearing with the Middle Fossa approach, and I didn't have a single facial or balance issue.

I didn't look into radiation as an option for me as I was 27, but I believe there may also be some surgeons who do free MRI phone consults (Chang at Stanford?), but I'm not positive.
Diagnosed Dec 2012: AN 1.4 cm with mild hearing loss and tinnitus. Surgery: Middle Fossa at House with Schwartz/Friedman on April 10, 2013. Entire tumor removed, no facial issues, no balance issues, and they preserved my hearing!! Co-leader of the Washington, DC ANA support group since 2016.

If you did not catch our March webinar, the topic was Hearing Preservation and the Middle Fossa approach. The webinar is archived in the Member Section of our website.
I hope this may be helpful.

You have been given some good advice on places to get very experienced opinions from to further your decision making.

Remember, only you can ultimately make a decision on how you are comfortable proceeding. Your's is small indeed and you don't mention what, if any, symptoms you are experiencing which will also play into your decision.

Best of luck to you ,, and continue to ask questions and update us as you go,,
