Taylor, Chelsea and Chris
« on: October 20, 2006, 12:29:30 am »
Okay, guys...this is my poem to you three.  Bear in mind, that I obviously am not a poet in the true sense of the word.  But, hey...I tried!! ;)

Taylor, Chelsea and Chris
The amazing kids of '06,
It was hard to see,
How bad it could be,
When things go horribly wrong,
...Turns out they were very strong.

They fought with all they had,
Some days it got very bad,
They had many struggles
We sent them all "huggles",
And though it was very severe,
...We knew they would persevere.

Kind thoughts from far and wide,
Their families by their sides,
The doctor's did their stuff,
These kids were pretty tough,
And we know the crazy year of '06,
...Will be better for Taylor, Chelsea and Chris.

Love,
Sue in Vancouver :)

That was awesome! You should take up on that! I still have hard days all the time. In fact i kinda fell down in class last night. It was sort of embare-assing cause some people asked if i was ok... then everyone got really quiet for a while. I just said "it's ok! it's cool!" then got back up.

I still want to be hyper and immature sometimes but it's hard going through this "recovery" lol...:(

PS to Taylor,

You handled the fall very gracefully.  If you don't make it a big deal, then they won't either...

Sue,

very touching poem - and of course very true.

As i have said earlier, it's hard to cope with these things at "middle age" but it's harder at the teens / twenty somethings coz of the peer pressure.

Remember guys, when you are really down, vent your anger here and as you have seen, the support is fantastic.

Wow, crowd surfing!  *throws herself in mosh pit*  That always did look fun. Yee ha!

Well, thought the "young 'uns" needed their own poem.  Happy it was well-received.

*whew*.

Sue,
I've been meaning to thank you for the lovely poem.  I just found it again and decided to print it out before it's gone into the archives.  I think I'll put it in the scrapbook.  I'm thinking of writing a book when all this is over, so I may be coming to you for permisson to reprint.  The poem is beautiful and heart-warming.
