Recovery Time
« on: February 12, 2013, 09:37:39 pm »
Hi everyone,

I am 9 months post op and still have moderate facial paralysis. I realize I am fortunate in many ways that the nerves have regenerated to the degree that they have, but I am still unable to smile. My physicians seemed suprised at my last visit that I had not made a full recovery by now.

I am wondering how long people took to completely recover (if you did completely recover) and was there a point where you could say you saw no further improvements? I.e, if I haven't improved by now am I to expect that this is as good as I can hope to look??

Thank you for your thoughts,

Kirsten O.

Hi Kirsten: I never got movement back, my nerve was cut, but I remember some members still seeing improvement more than 3 years out; so hang in there!
