ear fullness
« on: February 05, 2013, 12:49:27 pm »
i am a big worrier- but i wanted to ask- i have had a 'fullness" feeling in my good ear for about a week now- like my ear won't unclog i guess.  i did go to dr and he said my ear drum was red and put me on antibiotics but my ear still feels full ( my head feels full at times too)- do you think i have an AN in my good ear????
i also have an itchy throat (well, somewhat itchy, i have to clear it all the time)- a bit of an itchy nose,and when i wake up in the mornings my good ear is very wet inside.
any ideas???

Hello;
   I agree re, allergy, sinus drainage, post nasal drip, etc.
   Seems the antibiotic should help. One could ask Dr. about a steroid nasal spray also as the aural fullness suggests a blocked Eustachion Tube.
   If you sense a hearing loss ( esp. low frequencies ), a visit to an Audiologist may reveal inflammation/water behind the ear drum if a tympanogram is performed. This could be the reason for the wet ear?
   Best wishes with this!
