The dread call back for another MRI
« on: April 21, 2011, 01:17:35 pm »
I went for my annual MRI early Tuesday morning and this morning I received the dread phone call.  I go back for round two this coming Tuesday at 1:15 pm.  I'm going to need a sedative this time around, because I have nerves on top of nerves.  I'm also battling brutal headaches that never seem to go away.  It's time to review the medication I'm on when I see the neurologist in May.

Anne Marie ~

I'm certainly dismayed to learn that you've been asked to have your recent MRI scan repeated.  I hope that it may just have been flawed in some way and they need better resolution or something  - but of course I'll pray that (a) you get through this without any more stress than you already have and, (b) that the MRI shows nothing you'll have to be concerned about.

4.5 cm AN diagnosed 5/06.  Retrosigmoid surgery 6/06.  Follow-up FSR completed 10/06.  Tumor shrinkage & necrosis noted on last MRI.  Life is good.

Life is not the way it's supposed to be. It's the way it is.  The way we cope with it is what makes the difference.

Anne Marie -

I'm hoping for good news in the end.

Is it possible that they just didn't get enough "pictures" or that the pictures they did get were blurry or something?

Did they give you a reason why you had to return?

Jan
Retrosig 5/31/07 Drs. Battista & Kazan (Hinsdale, Illinois)
Left AN 3.0 cm (1.5 cm @ diagnosis 6 wks prior) SSD. BAHA implant 3/4/08 (Dr. Battista) Divino 6/4/08  BP100 4/2010 BAHA 5 8/2015

I don't actually "make" trouble..just kind of attract it, fine tune it, and apply it in new and exciting ways

Hi Anne Marie,

I am sorry to hear this, this is so nerve wracking. I know that with the holiday approaching it will be probably impossible to get an explanation as to why they need to do another MRI. It may very well be some sort of error on their part, i.e. they might have missed something. I know exactly how you feel , having gone through the rollercoaster recently, only to find out that there was some miscommunication between the radiologist and the GP. Hang in there. Try to have a good Easter weekend with your family and not to think too much about it.

Crossing my fingers for you - hoping for a technical glitch.

Truly unfortuante with a long spring weekend ahead - unneeded stress in your life.

Thinking of you.

I'm sorry to hear this Dear Heart....You know I'll keep my fingers crossed for you. I wish you could take an ipod in to listen to music or something. When I went in Buffalo, they piped in music, whatever I wanted. And when the selection ended they asked me what else I wanted. We could learn from our American friends.
