Congrats, DHM! Glad you like your Baha.

As for numbness, at least some of us have permanent numbness; I got my Baha in 2008 and there are still some small areas that are partially or completely numb. Also some areas of altered sensation--if I touch one corner of the graft site, it causes a "tight" sensation (not uncomfortable, just a little odd) in another area. None of this is problematical. Numbness on a small part of your head is virtually insignificant.

I had to wear the "cup" bandage for the entire first week, until I went back for the recheck with the surgeon. However, that is apparently highly unusual (and not comfortable).

I got my Baha three months post-op. The abutment seems rock-solid. :)

I am not a BAHA person but just wanted to say how happy I am for you and all who get them as one does not realize how much we use our hearing.     I have adjusted but still am always having to deal with it to hear people and situitations.   Hope you get your other questions answered soon!                         Cheryl R

Hey DHM!

Glad to hear you already love your BAHA!  I was supposed to get mine tomorrow but there was a screw up and no one ordered it so now I have to wait until it comes in.  I am SO eager to try it out - the extra delay feels like eternity to me.  So please, more details!  I need to live vicariously!!
