« on: November 12, 2010, 11:37:27 am »
I have emailed Ms. Diels twice for a referral but no response.  I live in the Memphis area.  Susan

Susan,

There's one at Vanderbilt in Nashville.  I know that's kindof a trip for you, but that might be the closest.  I know there's one at Duke University in NC also.  Cathey Norton is the PT at Vanderbilt - Pi Beta Phi Rehab - and I know she has a list of therapists who have trained under Jackie.  She looked up a few for me when I moved from TN to VA last year.  Let me know if you want her number and I'll PM it to you.  I'm sure she'd be happy to see if there's someone closer to you.

Thanks Lori.  I would like her number.  Nashville is doable.  My mother has been wanting to go see the Rocketts, so maybe we can make a fun trip of it.  I would love to meet you sometime.  You seem to be about a year ahead of me, so I try to follow your posts.  They have been very encouraging.  Thanks, Susan.

Susan,

PM is on it's way!

It's easy to make a fun trip of Nashville.  You'll have to go check out the decorations at the Opryland Hotel - I think it just reopened after the flood they had earlier this year.  It's beautiful in there.   Nashville is a great place to visit, I just didn't like living there!

I'd love to see Nashville since we are big country music fans, but it's a far drive from Detroit.  Does anyone have contact information for Jackie Diehls?  I recall her being in Wisconsin, but I could be wrong.  I hope I'm not missing the boat by contacting her 15 months post-op!  Have a good time in Nashville and hope you get to see the Rockettes!

Debbi was just there to see Jackie not too long ago.  I know she has her contact information.  If she doesn't see this post, try sending her a PM  (screen name is Debbi).

Hey, Debbi!  You out there?

Thanks Marybeth.  I have an appointment with Lori's gal in Nashville on the 13th.  I will see how that goes.  I was seriously considering a trip to Wisconsin but I hear that it is cold there.  Wish me luck.  Susan

15 mos out is not bad at all to see Jackie.       She likes to wait for many till a year  past surgery to get a good idea what the nerve and face is doing.                    She is in the western part of Madison and easy to get to,             They give you a hospital rate for hotel too when going to see her.                            We had a daughter live in Madison for grad school and then moved to Lansing so I know the distance.     We went via the ferry the Badger across Lake Michigan when we moved her so could miss the drive thru Chicago.                                                       Cheryl R

Thanks for Jackie's contact information.  I'll give her a call, but do look forward to my first symposium in Cincinnati next June (just one week after my oldest son's high school graduation)!. Hope to meet some of the forum there!

She is very sweet, Lori.  I told her that you referred me.  Hopefully I won't take a snow storm with me next month.

Oh, I saw on the news that you guys were having some rough weather!  Fortunately, those Nashville drivers are soooo good in the snow!   :o
