Hi Linda, I have just been diagnosed with AN of approx. 2cm.  and have considered  having the GK work done here in Columbia SC. at Palmetto Neurosurgery & Spine.  They are one of the centers of excellence and I hope they are!  I would love to have any advice and am in no hurry to have the procedure done so I am doing a lot of reading and consulting with several docs.  I see no reason to risk all of the side effects and long recovery of the microsurgery.  Thanks in advance for any help or thoughts you can give.

Hi
Check "Centers of Excellence" here. http://www.irsa.org/ I see you are in SC.
There are no 'best' Drs. in this as all GK machines are the same and most protocols,  similar.
  Best wishes to you!!   -Russ

Research the x-knife radiation treatment...it is better tham the gamma...been there done that.  I found out about x-knife from Dr.Thomas Ghaham 903-595-2441 Tyler Texas.  I received the x-knife a year ago.  My recovery has been very successful.  I have a large AN against my brain stem.  Look into x-knife.   Good Luck!!!!  Karla
