Looking forward to a picture of your new hat.

Fabulous news!!!  Enjoy your trips and the holidays :)

This is the sort of enthusiasm for hats that I live for.  ;D

Jo, I am happy to hear that the hat found you on a good day. It occurs to me that your Dr. may have sort of hollowed out the tumor, leaving much of the shell in place. This a good step for minimizing nerve damage, and often is enough to finish off the tumor, since it cuts off blood supply, and is a method that may become more common.

It may be the shell that shows up on the MRI. If you do need radiation to finish it off, it will not be a big deal. I think you are in good shape. :)

Glad to hear you didn't have a super sized growth of your AN!  Think Steve's theory is an interesting and likely one.

Even better, you have a hat-by-Steve!  We're expecting a picture of you and the lovely hat soon!  Sure it's getting about cold enough up there to wear it, right ;)  Every time I start to grumble about being cold down here in GA, I think about all my Canadian AN friends and...still grumble, but with sympathy for you guys!

Interesting.  Thanks for offering that insight. It might explain a lot of things about the MRI results.

1 cm, 6mm, 4mm on Left side. Surgery performed 11/6/2008 by Dr. Kalmon Post and Eric Smouha at Mt. Sinai Hospital in NYC.
Normal hearing before, 85%-90% now, dizziness when walking or turning head, annoying hissing and high pitched tinnitus on and off, eyes have trouble adjusting to rapid head move
