Started work this week...so far, so good. Feels great to get back at it.

Steve's advice is working well. I focus on the tougher technical issues early in the morning (after coffee of course) and switch to the more mundane tasks after lunch.

Hey, I missed this.  Congratulations, Bob!  I had the same nervousness when I went back to work after ten years of staying home to raise children and when I started downhill skiing again after twenty-five years.  It's like they say about riding a bike, pretty much.  Hope all the nerves have calmed by now.

Now, Steve, you're a poet.  Certainly, you can come up with something a little catchier than that!!!!   ;)

Bob ....

Missed the beginning of this.  Glad you took the plunge (maybe that was a poor choice of words for you  ;D) and are doing well in the job.  How well I remember enrolling for my first graduate school class after being out of the classroom for 23 years!  I thought I would never make it with all of the younger, sharper students but I did just fine and know you will, as well.

Good advice regarding scheduling .....

Best wishes.

Should I understand what you mean by artichoke friends? No I am not responsible for AutoCAD; we struggle with it like everyone else. I may come up with something catchier, but I am putting it off to another day when I can do better. :)

Hey!...what's wrong with Autocad? I've made my living for the last 20+ years being good with it... ;D. Having fun learning Revit and Plant 3D now. BIM is going to change the way things get done.

It figures....been searching for work like a fiend with no luck....then i get back to work and now I may have another offer.. ;D

Quick update....things have gone well so far with the part time position and Thursday I'm going for a second interview for a permanent full time position. Only issue I've had has been the fatigue but I can push through that most of the time. Feels great to be back at it.

Bob -

good luck with the interview; we're all rooting for you.

I found fatigue to be a major issue post op, but take heart, eventually it DOES go away.

Hang in there,

Bob ~

The good vibes you'll feel as you set out for your interview on Thursday will be coming from the many folks here that wish you complete success (and less fatigue).

Life is not the way it's supposed to be. It's the way it is.  The way we cope with it is what makes the difference.

Thus proving that not only is there life after AN, there is also work.  :P

Congratulations on the offer. I saw a video of some guys surfing giant waves in Hawaii back in December, and thought of you.  8)
