anybody in NYC have EmblemHealth insurance?
« on: October 30, 2009, 12:04:21 pm »
Am having tough time trying to find high-quality neurotologist who accepts what's now known as EmblemHealth (when GHI and HIP recently merged, new plans were created under the "EmblemHealth" name. Consulted w/Gutin at Sloan-Kettering (whom I instantly bonded with and Sloan takes EmblemHealth) + he referred me to Selesnick @ Cornell Weill as required surgical team-member (who doesn't take EmblemHealth). Have AN on right side and want it removed as hearing is going. As single parent w/1 kid in college and another headed there (they'll overlap) year after next, and job in small non-profit, the prospect of having to bail out on my kids' higher education is really distressing, if I can't find a neurotologist who'll accept the EmblemHealth "reasonable and customary" reimbursement as payment-in-full. Does anybody out there have experience of NYC doctor that has agreed to accept EmblemHealth's reasonable and customary reimbursement as payment-in-full when the surgeon was out-of-network?
