Yikes!  Only two weeks!  I'd better get that BAHA kit into the mail.

I remember the excitement of waiting for my own BAHA surgery date  ;D

Then there was my BAHA gotcha day!  Good times are ahead  ;D

Hi Melissa!

I know this has been a really long road for you and can imagine how excited you must be.  As others have said, this surgery really is a piece of cake, especially comared to what you've already been through -- you are one tough cookie.  Your BAHA gotcha day will be even more exciting and of course, there's Jan's wonderful BAHA Kit to look forward to also!!  I'm happy for you and look forward to hearing how things go.

Best wishes,
Wendy

Just wanted to clarify that the Official BAHA Recovery Kits are a joint venture between me and my infamous partner in crime, Lori  ;D

While they contain the same "ingredients", Lori and I alternate making them and sending them out.  I had the honor of creating Melissa's and Jo's kits recently - Lori is currently working on kits for Richey and keithb.

Wendy had the distinct pleasure of receiving the first official kit - but we've probably sent out at last 10 to 12 more; and hope to continue the practice.   I think I speak for both of us when I say it makes us happy!

We are truly a team in this project and I wanted to give credit where it's due.  Thanks, Lori  ;D

Congrats Melissa.  I am a patient of Michigan Ear Institute and had my BAHA surgery on 7/29.  It went great and yours will too.  It was a breeze ~ I was shocked how easy!!   :D

Are they asking you to pay $500.00 cash when you get your processor?  Curious.

p.s.  I hope your surgery is at the new St. John/Providence in Novi......it was beautiful there ~ all new and clean and good smelling.

Kathy
Retrosigmoid on 02-06-09 by Dr. LaRouere (Michigan Ear Institute) and Dr. Pieper.  Perfect hearing, perfect balance, no tinnitus and no headaches before surgery.  Right SSD, loud tinnitus and crazy headaches after surgery.  BAHA surgery 07-29-09 ~ still working on tune-ups...don't love it ~ YET!!

Kathy,

Yes they told me $500 when I get the processor, I didn't really question it, btu havent' had alot of time to think about it and figured it's a little ways off anyway.  PM about this.  And I will be at the new hosptial, not sure how to get there as I am coming from Toledo.  But I'm sure it's a breeze.  And I have to be there at 5:30 am.....I'm the first one that day.  A bit early, but at least no traffic to contend with.  Who is your doc a MEI?

Jan....I got my kit today!  It's great!  Thanks so much to you and Lori!!!

Jan -

I know you and Lori take turns sending out the BAHA kits.  Lori -- sorry for leaving you out.  It's a wonderful thing you both  are doing for our fell BAHA users.

I noticed possibly 2 of you had your BAHA done at MEI, wondering how everything turned out.

I had Middle Fossa 3 months ago with MEI dr. and thinking strongly of getting BAHA.....came across this post.

Thanks,
Denise
