Last evening I watched some of the Memorial Service for Ted Kennedy and then a special about him narrated by him.

Joe Biden and Caroline Kennedy's stories were really telling about the kind of human being he was.
Their anecdotes made him a real person and not just the politician.

It was very moving.

I thought of you immediately, Phyl, when I heard of Senator Kennedy's passing.  I knew how much he meant to you and your family.  Teddy at least had the opportunity to live a long and full life and did so much for so many.  My 4th cousin, Senator Hatch, a very conservative man, was good friends with Teddy.  I guess politics does make strange bedfellows.  ;)  I hope Teddy is having a good visit with his family, and I'm sure they are congratulating him on a job well done.

Peace,

Love,

thanks all for sharing your thoughts on this loss.  Sue, I had no idea you had Sen. Hatch's in the family!  It was truly nice to see the rapport he had with folks, even across party lines.

It was truly amazing to watch the services (Teddy Jr did a fab job at the service) and Boston news showed nothing but this past Saturday.  May he rest in peace... and know that for those that either agreed with him or not in his political role, he still made an impact in our lives (ie: ADA, Civil Rights, etc), including mine and the bloke's.
