Thanks for the touch of whimsey....with apologies to Pete Seeger and Lee Hayes who wrote the original words and music for the folk song "If I Had a Hammer" back in 1949. It was recorded and released that year by the folk group The Weavers but went nowhere because the lyrics were considered to be an anthem to Communism and radio stations wouldn't touch it. Times changed and the pop-folk group Peter, Paul & Mary popularized the song back in 1962 (it went to #10 on the "Hot 100' chart). Chicano singer Trini Lopez's version of the song went to #3 on the pop charts, in 1963. Dozens of versions by other singers abound. However, I like your lyrics.
Sorry if I offered too much information. I had a long career as a radio D.J. and retain a lot of useless trivia about songs and recording artists. I've always been like this.
