Hi Pembo,
I have experienced ALL those same issues, (and more
). It took a couple of months before I was truly happy with my BP100.
What worked for me was having the audiologist turn the feedback manager "off". I know it sounds odd, that turning it off actually reduces the feedback, but it worked wonders.
I work in a store where I am constantly exposed to all kinds of alarms and beeps, I was always hearing "shadow" tones.
I also have long hair, and it did annoy me at first that I could hear my hair when I turned my head. My doctor told me I would get used to it the more I wore it. I didn't believe it, but after a couple of weeks I did. I only notice it now if I touch my hair with my hand.
I do put my BP100 on when it's on, because I was told you had to have it turned off for 15 minutes to reset the program. Since putting the battery in turns it on, I don't want to turn if off again and then wait. I have learned to snap it on quickly, so it's less annoying.
Hang in there, it does get better!
Lisa
