Facial swelling

Had a 3cm tumor removed, had to have two surgeries, last one was February 2nd, 2016. Have facial paralysis and my face looks swollen on the paralyzed side. A doctor that I saw today said that it is very possible to be swollen while the facial nerve recovers. The surgeon said that the facial nerve was not damaged. Has anybody else had swelling of the affected side of the face?
