11 year MRI followup results
« on: May 05, 2010, 01:46:44 pm »
Right side AN has gone from 2.2 cm to 1.2 cm and stabilized.Left side AN has gone from 2.6 cm to 2.2 cm and shows no sign of growth.
They did find cyst in my sinus cavity and mucus so this could be the cause of the"ginger ale head "I have been experiencing.
Hang in there everybody.

Jim - thank you for this update. It is very encouraging. I haven't had my treatment yet. But will have another MRI this month and then see. I already decided that when I do go for treatment, it'll be radiosurgery, so results like yours are really-really encouraging.
Best wishes.

Jimmy D ~

Great news!  I appreciate that you're sharing it with other AN patients that can use the encouragement from a 'veteran'.  Thanks!

Jim
4.5 cm AN diagnosed 5/06.  Retrosigmoid surgery 6/06.  Follow-up FSR completed 10/06.  Tumor shrinkage & necrosis noted on last MRI.  Life is good.

Life is not the way it's supposed to be. It's the way it is.  The way we cope with it is what makes the difference.

Glad to help. The only suggestion I can offer is watch the growth carefully paying attention to growth spurts.
If you are going for FSR I would go with the larger amount of treatments example 30 smaller doses over 5 mega doses.
You will get lass swelling of the AN giving you a better chance of any collateral damage.
