I heard it depends on how much action yer gittin'.....er....I..MEAN...how active you are!!

There's a tea made by "Traditional Medicines" called "everyday De-tox"  I drink it to flush migraine drugs outta me.

Green tea is the best! I drink it all day--I make a concoction of green tea, red zinger, raspberry zinger or whatever herbal I have on hand. I really think green tea helps control cravings, too. ( No......no.....not THOSE kind of cravings ya wenches---FOOD cravings!  Jeeez!)

Well,
I really don't know WHAT day we're weighing in, now!!
I have managed to polish off ALL the choccie in the whole house post-birthday--yup...yup....yup....licked the cake pan, the dark choclate bar wrapper, and yup...yup....even the box that the truffles came it.....not a molecule of choccie remains in my house and now I can chase away those 5 lbs I gained over my week-long birthday celebration. I really don't understand how you can gain 5 pounds by eating 2 pounds of something---the math just don't compute!
Anyway, your dear captain is back on track and trying to get fit (again)--I made it to the gym THREE times this week--A record for me!!! I was wiped out yesterday and took a 4 hour nap!

It's amazing that after three 1/2 years post-op my balance continues to improve.  Stuff that Marshall had me doing a month ago when I started that was REALLY difficult has gotten lots easier--like stuff on the excercise ball and lunges.  I believe that the stuff you do to improve balance is cumulative and when you don't use it you lose it!  It's like an athlete trains--keeping what residual balance systems you have in shape is an ongoing thing.
I think that has been what has kept Maryjane in such great shape--being active on the boat and all. Maybe I should start a vestibular excercise thread? Or make copies of all my PT stuff and mail it out.  Be glad to do that for anyone.

Anyway...........131! but at 5'2" and very small boned that's still a little chunkier than I like to be. I never gained a lot of weight during my 2 1/2 year non-stop migraine because I had to eat Dr. Love's cooking and I felt extremely nauseous most of the time. I actually lost 15 lbs.  Not from his cooking--from the migraines! I lived on stoned wheat crackers (Which I never got stoned offa no matter how many I ate!) and Progresso Chicken soup, when I could get it down.
I porked up to about 139 when the headaches started to get better and I didn't want to die anymore and felt like living again.

It's good to have myself back again--warts, wrinkles, cellulite, and all!!!!

Tony why a "high protein" diet?

I've done more protein than carbs for years and I'm still fat fat fat....no matter what I do or don't do it's not making any changes....

I am only guessing here - but if you lose 35 LBS in 5 five weeks on the "gain" diet
- what exactly would happen if you had the "normal" food ?????
Kinda tough isnt it - to survive 4 neuro-ops......... then die of malnutrition....
best regards
tony

I am very much in need of support on this whole diet adventure.  So, I am happy to start weighing in again.

Has anyone heard of something called Optimal Shakes?  I am thinking of trying them.  Looking for some feedback.
