What a great way to start a weekend!
« on: September 18, 2009, 04:30:04 pm »
Just wanted to share some good news.  I received my MRI review letter from the University of Virginia (Dr. Steiner) today...they have been tracking my MRI since my GK treatment in 2003 at UVA.  Looks like they are in agreement with my Otolaryngologist at Naval Medical Center Portsmouth...

"The tumor looks the same size and enhances solidly, just slightly heterogeneously.  There is no significant mass effect on the brain stem.  The tumor seems stable, and it seems that the Gamma procedure stopped the growth of the tumor."  They suggest a new follow-up in two years.

I would be happier if the darn thing shrank...I guess that I'll have to settle for no-growth   :D

Happy weekend all!

Note: Riverside Hospital in Newport News Virginia now has GK!!

While shrinkage might be a nice thing, no growth is definitely nothing to sneeze at  ;D

Congratulations, GM.  This IS a great way to start a weekend - or any other day for that matter.

Gary ~

Congratulations!  Who cares about shrinkage?  No growth over 6 years is a very good outcome.  Enjoy your 'good news weekend'!  :)

Jim
4.5 cm AN diagnosed 5/06.  Retrosigmoid surgery 6/06.  Follow-up FSR completed 10/06.  Tumor shrinkage & necrosis noted on last MRI.  Life is good.

Life is not the way it's supposed to be. It's the way it is.  The way we cope with it is what makes the difference.
