« on: May 19, 2014, 03:21:00 pm »
I have had two decompression of the facial nerve.  It's been almost a year and still no movement in the right side of my face.  Is there any success story out there:{

Hey Justin (guessing its your name!).

I've had a facial nerve schwannoma removed and as a result have complete facial palsy on the LHS. If you never get function back, I'd suggest looking at nerve transfers, which a plastic surgeon can do. I had a masseter nerve transfer, and can now perform a smile (albeit not like it was) when I bite down.

Any questions, let me know.

Good luck!

Matt
