Vascular tumors -- Moe, Chelsmom, others?
« on: March 30, 2009, 06:20:56 am »
Hello everyone, I have been diagnosed with a hemangioma -- very rare -- aka a blood vessel tumor or growth -- but have noticed in other posts that Moe and Chelsmom have referred to "vascular" tumors or "vascular ANs."

I have had such a hard time finding anyone to talk to who has has a similar tumor, so I'm wondering, are those tumors hemangiomas also? There is so little in the literature about them. And much of it is bad -- but that's because, I assume at least in part, they are older reports and not from the best-of-the-best surgeons that I can tell.

Have you learned anything about what's different in progression, treatment or recovery with a vascular tumor vs. a nerve tumor?

Facial nerve hemangioma. Probable dx 7/2008 confirmed 4/2009. Combo middle fossa and translab to remove the blood vessel malformation and snip ruined hearing and balance nerves by Drs. House and Brackmann @ House 6/2009. Doing great!
