« on: August 29, 2006, 03:25:23 pm »
hi,
haven't been on in a while...but i just wanted to give you all my update...
I am exactly 2 months out to the day today from my retro sig surgery....the tumor was about the size of a golf ball they said...i am back to work as of yesterday... no balance problems, no headaches, no csf leaks...nothing! slight facial paralysis which may or may not go away...i think i have had a great outcome given the size and location of the tumor...but all in all...i feel GREAT :D  and i just wanted to give a great big THANKS to all my friends on here who prayed for me over the last couple of months...and trust me it worked!  i don't know if thanks is enough...but to all the newbies....trust me ...the people on here are so wonderful....what great listeners!  thanks...and if i can ever be of help to anyone please let me know...i would be glad to share my story....
i went from thinking i would die to doing so much better than anyone ever imagined....
thanks again  ;)

Yea!!!  Go Kim!!!  Right behind you!  I had more balance issues than you did, was a week after you and I started back work today!  My facial paralysis is starting to get better, and I'm hoping I'm on the 6 month recovery plan.  Good luck to you on your continuing recovery!!!!

YEAH!!!! happy to hear from you Kim.  You definetly had a marvelous outcome and with no major post op issues.

Are you back to work full time? Take it easy for the first week or so, don't over do it.

Glad you're back and isn't Nate a sweetheart ;D

Good to hear from you Kim. I can imagine the relief you must feel having the surgery behind you and doing so wonderful in your recovery. I believe you will continue to improve and soon all of this will just be one of those bumps in the road that you occasionally think of. Sure brings a lot of gratitude into ones life doesnt it. Hugs to you and yours. Sherry :-*

Kim, I am sooo happy for you ;D You must be so relieved to have this behind you, and be doing so well. Hearing stories like yours gives me great hope and inspiration.
Do you think  you did anything pre-surgery that influenced your outcome?

I also congratulate you on your recovery and I'm happy that you will be one of the fortunate ones who can come away relatively unscathed.  It must feel like a huge weight has been lifted from your shoulders!!  Continued good luck to you, my dear.

thanks everyone ;D

as for the question of if there was anything i did pre op....ummm...i guess just basically FREAKED OUT :o   .... well, i did....but seriously no...i do know that the docs did say that i may have healed ( as far as the wound goes) so quickly because i do not drink or smoke...i don't know...
and yes, i am so glad this is behind me...i will never forget the panic that set in when i found out...it was really bad...but i am so glad to be off all meds now!   those things will mess you up....
but thanks again everyone...i really appreciate you all
oh and yes, i decided to just come back on full time...it has been a good week so far...i am actually sleeping better at night...maybe my mind is more stimulated now that i am back at work ::)
